Asher was born here on March 28, 2020. We welcomed him into our family in May. He is a brave and confident puppy.
Just a few days short of his turning 5 months old, he figured out how to jump into the pool and swim. He also loves retrieving! We completed puppy obedience and beginner obedience.
Asher started upland training in 2020 and continues upland training. He enjoys the work. In 2022, he has improved in quartering in the field. His nose is also getting much better.
He has been learning many tricks and was able to get his Trick Dog titles, Novice and Intermediate. We are working on more tricks for an advanced title. He loves showing off his tricks to anyone that will watch.
With Gabe's passing at the end of June 2021, Asher has had much to adjust to. We are working our way through this.
September 2022 - Summer has come to an end. We worked on upland hunting and tricks. Asher passed the Advanced Trick Dog level test by learning 10 advanced level dog tricks. He had to show his ability at doing these tricks to an evaluator. He is working on upland training but isn't finding it as satisfying this year. Maybe having the winter off will help him. Tiki also had a time where upland hunting wasn't as fun either. She is now doing great at hunting, flushing, and retrieving. It sometimes just takes time. The last training session of the season was a great success! Asher got back into it and enjoyed flushing 2 birds and retrieving one. The second bird flew off. A really good way to end the season.
June 2023 - Summer is almost here. The pool is open and upland training is happening. It was a long and snowy winter. Lots of snow and ice. We were outside almost everyday with Tiki and Asher, throwing jolly balls to keep them content and in shape. They loved every moment of it. Now that the snow is gone, we are back throwing bumpers into the yard and the pool.
Upland training is going well. Asher is starting to flush the birds. He was scratched by one of the birds on Saturday and did well. He wasn't bothered by it. He is marking the birds really well.
September 2023 - Asher has had some really good sessions at upland training. He has learned to swim in the pool with me, no bumper needed for him to jump in and swim. I am enjoying his company more and more.
For the other Tollers I have listed a song that reminds me of them.
For Asher, it is a song named, "Mission of My Soul".
